The advent of the era of automotive infotainment systems (see Figure 1) marks the end of days when cars use simple car radios (such as the dashboards on Mercedes cars in Figure 2). Historic AM/FM radios still have a place on infotainment control panels, but with digital audio broadcasting (DAB), digital and high definition television (HDTV), satellite radio, integrated cellular phones, CD/DVD/MP3 playback , GPS (GPS) navigation and video game systems are combined.
